Mr. Miller most recently served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Silver Hill Energy Partners Holdings, LLC and Silver Hill Energy Partners II, LLC (collectively, the “Companies” or “Silver Hill”), and their subsidiaries, Silver Hill Midstream, LLC, Sopris Minerals, LLC, and Skyland Minerals, LLC. Mr. Miller founded Silver Hill in 2011 with a focus on the acquisition, enhancement, and development of lower-risk, long-life U.S. oil and gas reserves. The Companies developed large-scale operated projects in the Permian Basin supported by over $725mm in equity capital commitments from Kayne Anderson Capital Advisors, L.P., Ridgemont Equity Partners, management, and several private and institutional investors. In addition to its core operating business, Silver Hill also engaged in the development of a large-scale midstream system and the acquisition of mineral and royalty interests. In October 2016, Silver Hill announced the sale to publicly-traded RSP Permian, Inc. for $2.5bn in cash and RSPP stock. Mr. Miller also conceptualized and served as a Managing Partner of Outrigger Delaware Midstream, LLC, which was sold to Targa Resources Corp. in a $1.0bn transaction announced in January 2017.
Prior to founding Silver Hill, Mr. Miller served as a Principal and Senior Vice President of Energy Trust Partners, LP, where he led the firm's business development and deal sourcing efforts and assisted in the management and oversight of three oil and gas private equity funds with aggregate commitments of $875mm. Prior to joining Energy Trust Partners, Mr. Miller served as a Vice President of Energy Spectrum Advisors Inc., where his experience included sourcing and executing a wide range of oil and gas acquisition and divestiture transactions as well as private placements. Mr. Miller began his career with Wells Fargo Bank and Wells Fargo Energy Advisors in Houston, TX, where he served as an Associate in the energy lending group and worked on A&D advisory assignments.
Mr. Miller received a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Finance from Southern Methodist University and also attended Washington & Lee University. Mr. Miller is a recipient of the Outstanding Young Alumnus award from the Edwin L. Cox School of Business at SMU, where he also serves on the Executive Board. Mr. Miller serves on the 21st Century Council, a primary advisory organization to the President of SMU, and is also a member of the Board of Directors of the SMU Mustang Club. He previously served as the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Dallas Wildcat Committee and is a member of the Independent Petroleum Association of America, the Ft. Worth Wildcat Committee, the ADAM Energy Forum, and the Dallas Producers Club. Mr. Miller is also an active volunteer and currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Children's Medical Center Foundation, Texas 2036, and Goodwill Industries of Dallas, Inc., and the Board of Trustees of Highland Park United Methodist Church.
